Sound Alarm Settings

Menu Location: Settings - Alarms

Allows to control how the Sound Alarms and Detection Sounds are played.

General Sound Alarm

Issues a sound alarm through the computer speakers if there is an alarm condition on any camera. Active if there is no check mark beside, Use Separate Sound Alarm for each camera.

Play Time

How long to play the General Sound Alarm in terms of seconds. If Play Time = 1 the sound alarm plays only once. Otherwise the sound alarm keeps repeating itself for the specified time.

Play alarm2.wav instead of alarm1.wav

Choice which alarm sound wave file to play for the General Sound Alarm. You can edit the alarm1.wav and alarm2.wav files in the program directory to create your own alarm sounds. Use Windows Sound Recorder.

Camera Sound Alarm

Use separate sound alarm for each camera

If checked a separate sound is played for each camera which has an alarm condition on it. If not checked then General Sound Alarm is active.

CAUTION LIMITATION: If using this feature, make sure the Alarm Polling Time is greater than the time it takes to play all the audio files AlarmCam.wav, AlarmCam0.wav through AlarmCam10.wav in the program directory eg in the order of 60 seconds. Otherwise some of the Camera Sound Alarms might be cut off from playing and therefore be missed. Reason only one sound at a time can be played through a sound card.

You can edit files AlarmCam0.wav through AlarmCam10.wav in the program directory to create your sound alarm for each camera. For example, "front of house", "back or house" etc. Keep the play time of these wave files as short as possible.

Detection Sound

Use separate sound for each camera

If checked a separate sound is played for each camera when motion is detected on a camera. Unchecked then the same sound is played for any camera which detects motion.

CAUTION LIMITATION while sound is being played for all the cameras with motion detection on them, some new motion detected on cameras may not be played at the same time. Reason only one sound at a time can be played through a sound card.

Number of Beeps to Skip

If your sound card cannot play sounds fast enough, then increase the value of Number of Beeps to Skip until the Detection Sound is audible to your satisfaction.
